Summer begins: July 27, 2019

Tokyo had an extraordinary cool rainy season this year.

We had rainy or cloudy days for about a month through late July. The total of sunlight hours during the period from June 28 to July 21 was only 14% of the average in the past years.

Now, the gloomy season seems to have been over. We had summer days in this week.

I visited Hanegi Park in Srtagaya ward. I found that the trees had much more leaves than weeks ago. The green color of the leaves are getting stronger.

Cicada have begun to sing.

The sky was blue today.

I found several summer flowers inside and outside of the park.

Tachiaoi (Alcea rosea) is one of the examples.

I also found fuyo (cotton rosemallow) flowers in a walking path.

This is a photo of grape plants.

The temperature goes up over 30 degrees these days. It is lower than Paris, but it is hot.
